This is why He provides the words, like rails, like a path guiding the steps of our mind.
Through these words of prayer, He orchestrates the movements of our soul so that it returns to its source. Humility, strength of vow, orientation, simplicity of heart, forgiveness…
Each word is a note on the score and consciousness is the blank sheet. Christ inserts the divine symphony,
He creates the impulse and opens the field towards harmony in God.

Christian thought treats this in one of two ways. It is a formula for repetition, or it is a pattern to keep in mind when structuring one’s own prayer.
To me, the second makes more sense.
But I am not a Christian.

Christianity is an institution. Therefore, the institutional crust is all that there is to it. Whatever lies deeper needs another descriptor. Or none…
