PART 1
We spend our lives
Wanting, wanting not to,
Identifying, distancing,
Delighting, suffering
Below these strata,
Pass beyond the boundary of silence,
Where silence began,
and progress from there.
Silent sitting teaches otherwise,
The Elsewhere, the Authentic, the Deep,
And in silent sitting
It is not so much sitting that teaches anything,
It’s silence.
Silent prayer,
Praying without words,
Without mind,
Without desire,
Without being the toy of emotions
Only in silence can we find the Unspeakable

Once more, the irony, of putting this into words. How to express silence? To convey emptiness? To set forth no thing?
Silence, the answer to all these questions?

What I have approached in my Zen years was that the answers we expect before our sitting session never really come.
What happens is that questions have ceased to be.
They have vanished into thin air.

Then, the answers would be meaningless anyway.
