« I will change »

It is painful to realize that wanting to change is not enough.
The act of will is neither sufficient nor necessary
It is possible that the intention will set in motion a process which will lead to profound and lasting change.
It is also possible that the change takes place beyond any act of will…in total indifference for anything the change-harvesting agent might want for himself.

Also, it is possible that the change takes place in the opposite direction to what the subject initially wanted,
Here the wish to change is a desperate attempt, quite insufficient to thwart fundamental movements in the soul.

    1. Wise words, Simon…

The only way e can ‘make ourselves’ is therefore through erratic and immature intentions (non coherent and not thinking of consequences) ?
I’d rather someone else — Someone Else– took care of it, then…

      Aimé par 1 personne
