Seeing the Allegory

On the spiritual path,
There comes a time when you have to be able to get through,
Unload our body-mind vehicle,
Let go of the weights that prevent the breakthrough
beyond

The form of attachment here is subtle:
-it relates to the spiritual dimension, it is therefore difficult to see it as an obstacle on the path since it concerns what is supposed to be the very outline of the path.

Departing from it can be equivalent, in the mind of the practitioner/believer, to moving away from the path.
He then finds himself stuck in a seemingly contradictory injunction :
You have to move away from the path to continue along the path.

What are we talking about here?
The need to move away from a literal reading of the teachings and from a historical, factual understanding of the actors of this teaching…
…to understand its symbolic and allegorical dimension.

The life stories and speeches of teachers are the vectors of a meta-teaching.
They describe inner processes.
And it is only once the gaze is adjusted to this understanding that detachment can occur.
This sometimes requires courage, isolation, authenticity in the quest,
a priority given to truth rather than socio-cultural comfort.
