The sign of equality becomes increasingly undeniable between the deep consciousness and the eternal soul on the one hand and between God and the acute, joyful consciousness of the moment, on the other hand.
– Deep consciousness = eternal soul.
“Eternal” means infinite, defying the constraints of space and time
“deep” invites to rest in contrast to the swirling surface elements,
Depth and eternity have an equivalence of signifieds.
God = Moment inhabited by consciousness, consciousness investing the moment
God is the consciousness that invests, resides in the moment, gives it life
God is presence.
This presence is the emergence in the world of deep consciousness.
It is the inhabited world becoming depth,
depth given to the world.
This presence is the abolition of time
The moment that swallows up time.
What is at stake in this sign of equality is transcendence in immanence.
(In Zen we say: Samsara = nirvana)
