The freedom that emanates from the texts – I am thinking here of the Bible – is often shot down in mid-air by those who have learned to think of themselves as experts, or those to whom the eyes of men have turned in admiration.
This disillusionment, encountered a thousand times while listening to their words, is for me among those of the most violent kind.
Every time, still, the return to silence,
The return to the current of silence which will lead me back to the great strait of freedom in the texts.
