God Is Great

When we say: « God is great »,
it is not so much, in reality, about showing an excess of obsequious sensitivity: « Look at me, Lord, I say that You are great, I recognize Your greatness before all, You see, I am indeed a faithful servant, I deserve that You consider me »,
Than it is about recognizing in oneself to what extent God is Great.
It is the greatness of God that heals my soul…
Recognizing this greatness, this is what has the power to calm the turmoil of the heart and to elevate it.

God is Great, this is our great abandonment, our forehead against the ground,
The expression of the purest knowledge.
This is what the wandering monk can say at each step: God is Great

    1. Eckhart said something very close,
…(note the new age Guru « Tolle », but the one called « Meister »..)

..something I cannnot find right now.
Still, I stumbled on this quote, apparently unrelated, but worth sharing, I guess…

« What good is it to me that Mary gave birth to the son of God fourteen hundred years ago, and I do not also give birth to the Son of God in my time and in my culture? We are all meant to be mothers of God. God is always needing to be born. » ~

and a nice read, which, I have not read but honestly believe I will, while I really know I won’t.
      Ah…time.
