A very large part of what we call ‘religion’ actually relates to the mental universe.
A very large part of what we call ‘conversion’ actually relates to the substitution of one mental universe by another.
Spirituality is not part of the mental universe: on the contrary,
Attachment to a conceptual, referential, cultural, civilizational framework, to « fragrances », to « emotions », « memories » specific to this or that mental universe, creates a pool of stagnation where the practitioner sees, even if only momentarily, his spiritual evolution inhibited.
Established religions, because of their foundation, their antiquity, are a denser mental universe, meshed with elements through which it is difficult to pass.
These meshes can close on us and transform us into ridiculous little learned fish, our heads turbaned with a crown of lost crustaceans.
We gesticulate, clumsily out of the water and claim to bring back a teaching from the depths while ignorant ourselves, we agonize on a market stall.
The one who has been given the pearl of authentic teaching will dive into the silence of the night, to bring back the treasure from the depths.

Hence, religion is a tool of social and individual control, while spirituality is anarchy of the spirit.
