Zen and God

I sometimes wonder if not naming God, not talking about God in a practice, is not the best way to allow Him to exist within us.
Zen hides the divine, while in certain expressions of theistic traditions, God seems to have been absent a long time ago, leaving men to their repetitive self-interest.

The Spirit of Zen and The Spirit of God are one and the same expression
God is the beating heart of free Zen.

Merton said (in essence) that if Zen is not at the heart of its Christian practice, it is worthless.
The converse is just as valid :
And if God is not at the heart of the sitting, it will remain sterile.

    1. Awareness is too swift to be verbal.
When verbal, awareness is an illusion thereof.

(just a morning thought..it is much less peremptory in my head than it sounds in this comment’s comment)
