Religion is a vector of spirituality.
It is the vehicle of spiritual life and not the matrix thereof.
This life, my beating heart,
The vehicle that transports this life…
Some are more laborious, others more shiny and polished.
Some are for a collective purpose, others, more individual,
All, at the end of the race, have led this spiritual life, from one point to another.
Like a vehicle, religions, by their structure, offer a cabin that gives protection to the traveler, the spiritual life thus avoids violent winds, freezing rains and even if the vehicle is stopped for a time, this spiritual life is preserved.
The practice that walks from one point to another and wanders and gets lost because it does not take the roads marked out by vehicles, freezing its body in winter and burning its skin in summer.
It does not take a bus, a car, or a horse-drawn carriage.
And does not enter into discussion with travelers on the dedicated areas.
I do not know whether it is better or worse, but what courage does it not require ?
The wild Spirit that blows through such a soul, I bow down to.

Oh, I don’t know if you bow to it. That wild Spirit blows your barque along its course, I think. It may rip the sails, defy the compass, but you are piratical enough to follow that course. And let that wind cleanse your soul.
You are, also, too kind to religion.

Oh…a soul-cleaning wind ! Is that the sanctifying Spirit ?
I didn’t know there was an adjective related to ‘Pirates’ …
There are times when wilderness exhausts the soul and a little lull fro a tranquil sail wouldn’t hurt.
