I did not become a Buddhist, in the sense that there has never been a moment in my life when I was put in relation with Buddhism and decided to integrate it into the different levels of my life, ‘crude’ principles to insert into the smallest interstices of everyday life.
I have never applied to the world a Buddhist reading grid to which I would have previously decided to adhere.
The approach, which is not one since any approach presupposes a voluntary process, is more of an inductive nature: one day, I sat down.
…Where the empirical investigation of fields, forests, beaches, deserts, inner cities could not be grasped by any of the reading grids in which it subsequently tried to insert itself.
What I read there, what I heard, did not correspond to the experience of just sitting.
The frames could not intersect, contain this free and natural practice.
This was not the case or was to a much lesser extent when it came to Buddhist teachings. I read something there that resembled my reality as a practitioner.
Subsequently, the deepening of the practice, the harvest of sitting opens up to another level of understanding through which there is no text, no authentic teaching that cannot find a reflection in the practice.

The concept of a recumbent non-Buddhist is interesting. I suppose this amounts to « something anyone can do, regardless of background or tradition. »
