Zen does not build from the past

Zen, Zen, Zen,
what does it matter ?

Zen does not exist,
Zen does not exist anywhere else but in you, here and now,

What you extrapolate from the past …
Zen is not built on Zen,
such is your great freedom,

And your oppression when you go astray,
What you call ‘Zen’ can never be Zen
because Zen is alive and the word is not.

The same goes for God,
What you elaborate for the future
does not exist.
