To say that the Buddha achieved awakening alone,
That he was only a man who. through the light of his practice. managed to find a solution to the suffering inherent in our condition,
…
That is true
However, this is only one level of reading.
Let’s change scale and increase the depth of field: it is also equally true to say that the Buddha, the Awakened One, is awakened at all times and that he is indeed sent, from greater, from further away, the Son of the Dharma, the one engendered since the dawn of time to teach the worlds
The flower is the flower,
The stem, the roots, too,
The earth that gave birth to it,
The rain that nourished it,
Each phenomenon of nature contributes to giving birth to the Buddha before our eyes.
It is true to say that the Buddha awakened through solitary practice after leaving his ascetic friends;
It is equally true to say that the Buddha awakens every second,
Every event, every tiny event,
is the flower of the Buddha,
which matures before our eyes,
And every time the Dharma carries to our nostrils
the deep and delicate scents, we become the Buddha.
Each time, in the cup of my heart, I collect the juice of reality,
And the Buddha smiles in me.
This is what all the books, teachings, practices, traditions recall.
Books, practices, teachings, traditions, invite us to remember, to the blossoming of the flower.

Then the same is true of all. We each find our way alone. We each were there, from time immemorial.
