Having reached a certain point, a certain form of interest in music,
particularly focused on identity-related discussions, defense of point of view,
is a stagnation to be overcome.
A station through which it is appropriate to pass through.
When we take this turn on the path, we leave behind all ‘communication’ component in music, its character of support of an identity ceases to hold our attention,
Such a message shows itself for what it is: one more discussion, an added opacifying layer on reality.
The attention of the practitioner, from this terminal will focus on music as a reflection of the depths of the soul or as a well on the path, on which we lean and, invited by a familiar lapping, into which we enter to reach the source.

This is applicable to more than music. Painters with opinions o how to paint, poets on how to write…

Certainly…I simply thought of what I was most concerned with…

How would that be applicable to poetry, then ?
could it take the form of an end to self obeservation and focus on emotional inner movements ?
in which case, wouldn’t that skim 95% of all the poetical corpus ?
(maybe this is not relevant as this post was written quite a while ago and, as always, I’m having a hard time grasping what I may have meant initially …I know this is not good marketing for this blog, but that is the truth… )

I read it as one imposing one’s structures on what the art form « should be », creating a version of the « no true Scotsman » fallacy. The imposition of ego as an entirely improper test of validity.
Is not music a form of wordless poetry?

As poetry is a form of non-instrumental music…

Interesting, that is the ultimate criterion.
