Prayer is, in essence, an act of harmonization between the practitioner and reality, the universe, deep nature, God.
It is the practitioner’s response to the constant call of reality.
Prayer is a disposition of the being in the direction of Being.
In this, the involvement of the body is decisive.
The being who prays is a complete being; the body cannot be left aside.
Leaving the body aside is tantamount to amputating the soul.
Deep prayer is neither a request, nor a plea for grace, nor a bargaining chip, nor a service rendered.
It is a profound connection between being and Being.
Primordial religion, and, whatever the words,
prayer is silence beneath.

Might I suggest:
1. Such a connection is no religion. It can be with the divine in any guise – including within another.
2. The idea of prayer you describe is more like a way of life.
3. Amputating the soul requires rather physically fatal measures.

1. Etymologically, religions are necessarily connections
2. Indeed, deeper meaning of « pray at all times »
3. Screens, social media, empty conversations, the entertainment industry …do the job without physical injury.

1. Connections are not necessarily religions, though.
2. I think that is the consequence.
3. I would say « dissociation » rather than « amputation ».

1. I agree
2. I agree
3. I guess, being a native speaker, you’d be right. Could we settle for « partial amputation » ?

Done.
