Dogen and the Divine Breath

“Although the unimaginable Dharma abounds within each of us, we can only perceive it through practice, for it is only attained by realizing it.

Buddhas who reside within it permanently cannot grasp it, while sentient beings who constantly come and go within it, it remains beyond the reach of their awareness.” (Bendowa)

The awakened ones “reside,” sentient beings “come and go.” Both cannot grasp God, some because they have realized the elusive nature of the Dharma, others because their position prevents them from realizing it.

Could we speak more accurately of the Divine Breath ?
Could we approach the Divine more closely through words ?
