When everything has been subtracted from the practice of zazen,
there remains the task of removing zazen from zazen,
so that simple sitting is empty of simple sitting,
so that zen is empty of all zen.
This step can prove difficult. It is often a post to which we cling,
which we must let go of and become the wind.
To become the wind, go stand in the wind. Listen to it. Feel it blow through you as if you are not there. Let your spirit fly, riding it.
