Having a nose so close to the day-to-day grindstone, does not allow to enjoy life’s beauty…
Such a close-up shot of reality does not reveal its full esthetic potential..
This full potential of reality we are short of is what motivates our complaints, boredom and frustration.
Museum benches are never stuck to masterpieces. This fulfills a twofold function :
They create a distance, a perspective to truly appreciate the wealth of a painting.
They also offer visitors a place to rest after tedious hours spent walking through crowded city streets.
These two functions are either successive or simultaneous.
As I sit and practice, I rest my body and give my inner eyes a clearer perspective on life.
Life is the masterpiece, and as I stand back up, I may enter those marvelous landscapes I carelessly deemed too familiar.
