Laying Hands

I realize the beauty of a job consisting in laying my hands on something, and letting them take
An animal, a wooden board, a human body, a fistful of earth, a guitar…

I know a teacher touches the deepest in others’ being, not with his hands, but through his eyes.
Yet, a simple expression of the hands remains unrivaled in its immediacy, its nudity.
In its radical truth.

Sitting Zazen, the whole body is my hand.
The whole being, without end and without beginning, touches the world,
They infuse each other in an endless dance.

Sometimes, the joy of being felt by the fish is so intense that it forgets it was swimming in the ocean and asks for a glass of water.
