Shoshin (初心)

Zazen: the beauty of the Way
The natural effort of light – beginner’s practice,
The torch set ablaze, then blown by the wind,
rekindled, fallen from our hands, rekindled again,
approached, ever closer, to the corners of the room,
flying insects,

The beginner is a senior.
The senior, a beginner,
The same spirit of honesty,

Brings them together.

    1. Indeed, it gets even more mischievous than that: the more you think of yourself as an expert or an advanced practitioner, the less far along the path you probably are.
      How wild is that?
