No Small Thing

It is no small thing to have the courage to leave the tree we have been clinging to

to leave the hut that we have built for ourselves.

It’s no small thing, before leaving the tree and seeing the forest,
all the trees, every tree previously inhabited, previously cherished,

then forced to leave, when the inner incoherence screams too loudly….

It is not trivial to see here what the sentences of religion concealed,
what all the sentences of all religions concealed.

It is not nothing to see the space to inhabit
is much broader than all the sentences of all the religions,
than all the concepts of all the religions placed end to end.

It is no small thing to abandon all this for that space.

No small matter to see that the consciousness is much broader,

About to let go of the trunk we hang on to,

there is a feeling of anxiety, of fear.

It is no small realisation to see it fade out as tremendous joy arises.

In the end, it is no small thing to already know all this,
to have always known it and finally see it.

It’s no small thing to stop knitting to yourself with twigs,

to lay it all down, and exist at last.

It’s no small thing

It’s even the greatest of all things.
