It is true that the reflex consisting in encapsulating the Divine in a definition is a trap.
The most common pitfall (mine) would be to seek to encapsulate it in the ungraspable, thinking thereby to keep myself above the fray.
The Divine, although perfectly elusive, is also eminently graspable: the sacralization of everyday life.
It is difficult for me not to draw a parallel here with the acute ease that Zen disciples have in making two contradictory terms coexist without seeing any logical problem: accessing a meta-dialectic.
The resorption of terms operates through a transcendence that is unaware of itself.

I suppose, logically, deity is where all contradictions resolve. To the extent we carry deity within us, we are resolution.
