Jesus did not come to abolish the Scriptures,
But to ‘fulfill’ them. (Mt 5:17)
By this verb, we often understand that Jesus came to unfold a scenario contained in the Scriptures.
There are prophecies wrapped up in the Scriptures and Jesus came to fulfill them.
Fulfilling — without going through the study of the Hebrew term — but by simply listening in myself to what resonates through this term :
Jesus came to fulfill,
This means to actualize, to make a material alive.
The Scripture-material is available.
It must be incarnate, come to life in ourselves.
If the Word of God is alive in us every moment
Every moment, we fulfill the Scriptures,
With each inhalation of divine breath, I realise the Scriptures within myself.
The open Heart of Man transforms dead letters into fields of life.
So he who fulfills the Scriptures sows the word of God,
With every word, every gesture, with every thought.
To fulfill the Scriptures in this sense is to enter the Kingdom of God.
When behind the letters and the words, the living word emerges, it comes to irrigate the Heart of man and allows life to flow again.
The Word of God irrigates the field of Man,
It is the process of life and the incredible power going from seed to ear.
It is in the Heart of Man that the Scriptures are fulfilled,
By openness, by grace,
Through practice and silence,
The Word becomes Word in the one who accomplishes it.
It is not the score that warms the Heart of Man,
it is the music that springs forth when Man comes to embody it.

Then scripture has no relevance as against what is written in life itself…?
