On The Way To Maturity

Wisdom, spiritual maturity may unfold along the following process :

– Firstly, recognize the movements of the soul, of consciousness, along the dual/non-dual axis.

This first step of recognition is essential: positioning yourself along the axis implies being able to hold in your consciousness the points that you do not occupy. Thus, at this level, the practitioner already shows a certain maturity, although he is not always aware of it.
The pitfall consists of the intrusion, even in these spheres, of a powerful reflex of identification. He is then the toy of an adolescent “who am I ?”.
Or, perhaps in a more subtle way, therefore more difficult to uncover, of an intellectual “who am I?”, this last reflex consists of deploying a substantial energetic arsenal in order to bring the different components of a belief/practice into coherence or to artificially create a coherence a posteriori, speaking of a set of scraps of discourse, readings, attitudes, of knowledge.

-Further along, spiritual maturity is reached when the practitioner will be able to perceive his movements, along the dual/non-dual axis in the same way as we think of the comings and goings of the rib cage as it empties and fills with air.

Here, the practitioner will have left this dual/non-dual axis, In the sense that it no longer seeks to be defined by its coordinates.
A duel, he knows he is non-dual, Non-dual, he knows he is dual. I think here of the words of my master who often relayed to us the definitions of Zen as “the Way of the grandmother…” The grandmother embraces with a smile the positions, the personalities of the members of family members and other characters of existence and knows that it does not mean much.
