Slow Motion Effect In The Bible

It is quite common in the Bible to use the 2-step process, as a narrative manner to reflect a certain inner movement (a movement of the soul)
A “1, then 2” pattern resorts to cause-consequence dynamics.
But the underlying reality is much more striking and powerful.
This process transforms inner realities of the spiritual adventures into stories to be told.
it creates a shareable package for teachings.

2 examples here in Nehemia.

1.8 : “ If you are unfaithful, (1) I will scatter you among the nations (2)”
In reality, unfaithfulness contains its own consequence (scattering).
In our inner reality, unfaithfulness is scattering of mind, forsaken soul

A little bit different but following the same logic, in Nehemia 2; 3, when he has to answer the King who inquires for the reasons of his sad face : “Why should my face not look sad when The City where my ancestors are buried lies in ruins and its gates have been destroyed by fire ?”

The gates (senses) have been made unusable (saturated) by fire (passions).
The access to origins (ancestors) is impossible (state of ruin).
All this does not lead to sadness, it is sadness.

The swiftness of inner reality can only be rendered and shared through this slow motion effect enabled by the narrative process, giving the illusion of a 2-step process.
