“Thinking from the depths of non-thought”, said Master Deshimaru….
Absorption in God acts as such on conceptual thinking.
In the state of deep prayer, the mind is no longer invested with the usual energy.
Contemplation of the mind can then take over.
We could say that prior to this state, what we attribute in our talks on the divine, is only the fruit of a dialogue between the superficial strata of our own mind, in a game of bouncing ball on the walls of our skull.
A large part of theological considerations fall into this game.
Our inner eyes follow the ball as it bounces in all directions.
Here too, the detour through sitting, then the return to sitting, opens up to the divine sphere.
Whether the approach is dual (surrender to the divine) or non-dual (zazen), it is the same spiritual practice, one from the outside to the inner heat (phenomena to Buddha nature, the other inside out, (from the warmth of the divine hearth to everything that is not the ball game).

Perchance, the ball, by bouncing in unexpected directions, can point to some new insight.
Never underestimate bouncy things…!

Weird thoughts are crossing my mind right now..
This often happens after I read comments from you, I notice…
I m the the kind of person to grant too little interest to bouncy things.
I know better.

I deny all responsibility for any weirdness in the bouncy balls within your head…

Of all people, you should know denial is never a sufficient condition to ground innocence.
The « Wuzn’t me » argument

I also know where the burden of proof lies…!

True.
Just a matter of time.
