If you do not see that everyone and everything around you is dying,
You’re not looking close enough.
If you think that you will be treated differently,
You’re fooling yourself.
Everything, everyone, you included, is dying,
as they speak, stand, act…
Everything, everyone, you included is disappearing,
As they keep rolling out their gear of strategies to pretend this is not happening.
A close look, an attentive ear
teaches that disappearing is the underlying, ongoing process ruling everyone and everything.
The question to ponder is : how to be alive dying ?

All around you is changing. Life is change. Only stagnation is death. Therefore, what is commonly called death, is life doing what life, unending, does.

You’re such a Buddhist, Simon.
All the more so that you ignore it yourself.
There’s indeed nothing worse than a self conscious Buddhist.
The same goes for Zen practitioners.
Blessed ignorance.

I refuse to be any sort of « …ist » or « …ian ». Been there, done that, and stuff it for a game of soldiers. « Heretic, » does me fine. « Pagan, » at a push.

Wer ist Ian?

You’re right.
That is a vert healthy zen reflex.
No ist, no ian…could settle for zen (then)?
I define ‘zen’ as heretic, pagan, anti-ist, anti-ian,
And indefinable.
But zen again, who am I? Who is me? Wer ist Ian?
