Two pitfalls that should be avoided :
-Those who always want to explain everything
-Those who believe we should never try to explain anything
The former turn our existence into an experience of sadness
The latter are hit by a gullibility which will turn their existence into one of suffering.

The third pitfall, perhaps, is that of believing explanations too readily, and the fourth, accepting none regardless of its sense.

There’s a Nagarjuna inside of you, Simon.
Thanks for this addition…much to the point.
I think I’m personally very concerned with the latter…which is just another expression of the third one.

The only thing that I am reasonably certain is inside me is my breakfast and a pint of coffee…

The coffee seemed strong enough to have a real effect…

There is absolutely nothing objective in that statement…

There is no objective evidence for anything, as, I think, Slartibartfast observed – subjectively, of course.

Isn’t the quest all about minimalising the subjectivity ?
Is pure objectivity ever-elusive ?
Isn’t our relation to objectivity necessarily asymptotic ?

How does one minimise subjectivity when all perception is subjective? If I state my objectivity, is that not a subjective assertion?
J’aimeAimé par 1 personne
I guess objectivity does not state anything.
It simply is.

I’m not stating this..just saying…

I’m suggesting it is not…
