In the bar of alcoholic thoughts, silent sitting is the owner who grabs them one by one by the collar and leads them to the door while they struggle, stammer and mumble.
Zazen is also the astonished customer, who can’t believe his ears,
Zazen is also the neighbor upstairs who hears the piano, ragtime and the alcoholics addressing each other interspersed with hearty laughter.
Zazen is also the piano player, obsessed with his ragtime, or tired of playing the same ten pieces for years.
Zazen is also thought, all the thoughts that are sent to the door
and zazen is also the thoughts that manage to feign sobriety when the manager gets angry.
Zazen finally, although being all that, has absolutely nothing to do with this place.

Alcoholic thoughts, I presume, are a metaphor for addictively unclear, self-destructive mental processes?
You seem to say your meditational practice encompasses the many aspects of that, but is still apart. As such, ultimately, it is, and can be realised as, free of such issues.

Indeed…in which case it does not need to be realised.
