Coming Back To The Sitting Stable

Even if the world seems to persist in doing everything to keep forgetting,
the body knows the sitting posture…
and as soon as it stops being led here or there, as soon as no one watches it or orders it to behave in this or that way,

It returns in the same way as a horse that has recently been frightened, when it calms down, or as soon as the man who holds it wants to gird it and train it, shows inattention,
returns to the stable.

    1. It is.
You understand me better than I do.

I agree with everything you say,
Still, on the most pragmatic way,
I cannot deny the wealth of the posture.

In your approach, I can still distinguish some remnants of intellectual activity (just am intuition… I am unable to ground that statement)
Such activity eventually vanishes through the sitting posture.
(Again …don’t ask me why or how…)

I know yet, that all in all you must be right.
But this sitting experience tells me otherwise.

I count on your Dogen reading.. to be more impactful than me.

    2. Also…whem reading Dogen , finding a decent translation can be quite a challenge…
I believe the nishijima/mike cross version of Shobogenzo is reliable…
On Any case, I ve heard contemporary Japanese people do not understand a word when reason the original text.
