Silent sitting opens the door of the Spirit,
Lightens the inner eyes,
Sit down, try and see.
You have to sit to believe it.
Through zazen, the profound content of sacred texts is revealed,
Other men see the rock
When your eyes pierce through and read the flow irrigating the world
You hear the joyful hissing of undulating waters
And your face smiles gently
Zazen opens you to the necessary freedom
The knowledge of the living,
Does not spring forth in constraint.
Sitting is everywhere and belongs nowhere.
Wherever you are, that is the key
On the landing of closed doors.

The more I think about this, more I must conclude that the operative word is « silent ».
« Sitting » describes stillness, regardless of physical posture. Silence and stillness bring awareness, then. Or, at least, the conditions for it to appear.

Yes …it has everything to do with conditions.. But here, conditions ate everything.
