The Bald Man Was Right

The bald man, whom I eyed with suspicion, was right.

Yet I saw in his words yet another gratuitous provocation, one for which he had an obvious inclination. In his strong, hollow voice, he clarified: « Zen is not Buddhist. »

Today, as I walk alone, I return to this phrase and I subscribe to it completely. Zen is not Buddhist, Zen does not belong to Buddhism.
I’m adding here, as yet another provocation, one of those toward which my being naturally leans, Zen does not belong to Zen.

Zazen, simply sitting, the ultimate practice, is not part of any movement, and belongs to no one.
Zazen is the universal revealer of each person.

Modality to enter the well of consciousness.
