3 types of people in spiritual circles:
Among disciples, the three most common profiles are found successively in the same person (or even synchronously):
-Those who talk a lot and constantly seek to show who they are. They deploy an arsenal of codes/types of thinking/keywords (for the community, they establish credibility as disciples).
– Those who speak less and constantly seek to obtain equal status with the master by playing the role of corporal, recipients of a delegation of authority based on their progress on the path or their seniority as practitioners.
They seek to establish credibility in their practice, to establish credibility as masters; they will eventually demonstrate great ease when it comes to referring to themselves as masters.
There is, moreover, a strange compatibility between the former and the latter; each gives the other what they want to obtain, and they mutually establish credibility.
– The third category: those who arrive, practice, remain silent, and leave.
Generally, disciples evolve through these three profiles.

The cynic in me laughed, and said:
« Better to be thought a fool than speak and prove yourself to be one. »
I know that is not [at least, not just] your meaning, but the thought tickled me.

This is indeed the story of a talkative man claiming the wisdom if silence…
