If the materials from your religion are part of what blocks the path to Being, this is an indicator of the distortion of these materials, concepts, and beliefs.
This distortion can be of several kinds: it can be a deviation from the original axis, due to the passing of years, centuries, or a use for political purposes, on the part of religious institutions or people in authority.
This is then an exogenous distortion.
It can also be an endogenous misalignment. Then, the way you approach materials contributes to this distortion.
They end up blocking your access to Being,
To your nature of freedom.
Nevertheless, this nature may surprise you by revealing itself to you in unexpected ways. For the nature of this nature is to reveal itself,
Disarming in its simplicity,
Your entanglements with religious material will no longer have a hold on you,
when it makes itself known, when it is born within you.

You are too kind to religion. It is the material that blocks being and spirituality. The nature of the beast.
But yes, there is a dialogue between conformist pressure and personal belief within religion. The problem is that it is weighted toward the former. A social construct, built to survive and elevate its adherehts’ self importance.
