In some cases, claiming the inability of words to express what we feel amounts to absolving ourselves of any responsibility for our failure to try to put emotions into words.
Or worse : this argument will be used to feign an emotional reaction that never actually took place.
Such an argument then allows its proponent to gain social prominence by revealing a sensitivity that is as acute as it is artificial to those who look more closely.

I was not aware there was any responsibility to express emotions in words.
Which must make a surprisingly irresponsible poet (and, perhaps, a more effective lawyer).
Though, certainly, there is responsibility not to misrepresent them.
Which may be my redemption, if that is a concept of any validity.
