The worst thing that can happen to a true master is for disciples to project the image of a master onto him.
Therefore, the real world will constantly defuse such projections.
By not appearing as the master we would like him to be, he will therefore embody the true master.

I remember we once discussed teaching what one does not know.
Maybe a master is unaware of his being so, or of the validity of anything he sets out to those he is unaware are his disciples?
