When my dog was about to die, hundreds of tiny parasitic organisms suddenly rose to the surface of his fur. Sensing his body cooling down, they urgently needed to find another host to prolong their existence.
A similar process can be observed when one reaches the zone where letting go of the mind is no longer theoretical. So close to experiencing firsthand the illusory, manufactured, and manufacturing nature of the mind, my intrusive thoughts arise and cloud the experience. Sensing their approaching end, rather than seeing them as a diversionary phenomenon against which we would then have to fight, implementing this or that technique, it seems far more appropriate to welcome them as a manifestation of panic, an urgent cry for help.
The teeming thoughts are about to lose their host. The mind is cooling down, and the intrusive thoughts will soon have no one to shelter them.
The energies thus released must not be countered, for they would only be nourished and sustained, thus raising the temperature of the mental host.
They require remote guidance during this fleeting stage of dissolution. They have no reality other than the one we give them, or gave them.
We are witnessing the actualization of their illusory nature.
