A striking effect of meditation practice is that it predisposes one to see Beauty.
The Beauty that emanates from the simplest arrangements of reality…
-a circle of sunlight oscillating at the bottom of the pool
-the smoke of incense drifting along the fence…
Beauty was there before I sat, and I didn’t see it.
By opening the balm of Beauty, sitting also becomes the observatory of the perpetual offering of Life.
A learning of the gift received, a hearth where the offering of reality is nourished.
Sitting is the point of contact between gratitude and generosity,
Between the offering received and given,
At this point, these two movements are a place where aggression vanishes.

To sense beauty (I will not limit this to vision) requires open sense organs, and an open heart.
