I realize that contemporary technological tools—PCs, smartphones, etc.—have nothing to do with life.
On the contrary, they have everything to do with an escape reaction when we are confronted with life—within ourselves, directly, or through the intermediary of another.
This observation is far less naive than it seems.
It relates to the nature of the impulse that puts a phone, a remote control, or a tablet in our hand.
