» I no longer live… »

In Galatians, 2:20, Paul says :

» I no longer live, but Christ lives in me »

He had felt Him emerge, as He was slowly coming to light,
As he was sitting and preserving quietness,
As the depths cracked open under the floor of the self
What had been living inside him was Christ.

God within man, the Living God, the Self, Life…
At this moment, none of these terms prevailed over any other.
And the debate about which of those should stand first just could not take place.

Let’s consider Paul’s words again :
We need to take note that Christ does not start living within him at the moment he claims so.
His assertion is not performative in any way.
Christ does not start living in him…

Paul was already living through this Christ but did not know it.
Contemplation, whether we name it sitting, prayer or meditation…allowed him to expericence this shift in consciousness, like the tipping over of a sandglass, where the upper container has abolished any time limitation.

This is a rebirth to the same life. He had seen it…
How could he ever experience life from his restricted self anymore, now that he had Christ living in him ?
