This life, intense, the life that goes to the teenage head
This, life, boundless and explosive, the life moving the child running in laughter,
This life, of speeches, relations,
The life of grown-ups, from here to there
And back here, pulling out smiles,
Shaking ghostly hands,
The life of the old man, quivering in distress
Or breathing out wisdom,
Scanning the world through filters of fear,
Or smiling at graces, splintering everywhere,
All these lives, I see them
all these paths, I live them,
One and the other,
Alternately and at once,
Sitting Zazen they pass through me
And I live so much more than that.
