Highway to Hell

Whatever you do,
Do not pick up all the moments of mindlessness,
Those you spent pretending you had an urgent matter to address
Do not place them end-to-end, one after the other,
For you’d be paving a highway to hell.

This would fill you with dread,
This is filling me today with infinite sadness
For you,
And for me.

  1. Whatever I do, I will seek to minimise the numbing triviality of this life’s demands. I will try to recognise that triviality for what it is – the demands of society’s sickness upon those who seek for health. And when I am mocked for turning away from the endless pursuit of material wealth and social status, I will look at the mockers, and I will pity them. Even though I know I can do nothing other than walk away. No man can heal those who want to be ill

    1. Though they do not know that have chosen to be ill.
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Absence of mindfulness / consciousness creates conditions of suffering.
Christ and the Buddha, not saying anything different…

I guess this is Karma (ref to earlier comment)
And this is samsara : endless roaming in hellish realms.

I had never realized this sentence from Jesus was so deeply aligned with Buddhist teachings.
      Thank you Simon
