It is our liberation that liberates the world.
The Bodhisattva can only free himself if he wants to save the world.
He can only save the world by freeing himself from his places of suffering.
Because his suffering is theirs.
There is no difference.
Ending one’s suffering is the first step in initiating the path to ending the suffering of others.

A somewhat idealistic view, however.
No longer partaking in the general suffering may provide an example for others to follow.
I suspect it may, also, entrench their attachments.
That is not a criticism. Merely an observation.
