Social networks mirror our thought activity.
They’re very much like the mind,
Always attracted towards the shiniest, scariest, creepies content and manufacturing more similar content outfit.
This is the most obvious level of comparison, though, for the same could be said of every other means of ocommunication, as they’re all conveyor of thought activity.
They may hardly (or at great cost) prevent to eventually shape into the most efficient echo chamber, for the material they are supplying – media, tv, radio, papers, verbal communication.
Simply put, this is what the Budddha’s teachings allude to when we’re asked to monitor our speech.
Left unwatched, it will eventually turn out into one of those thought-monster trucks that are the channel of social media timelines.
This quick consideration about social media has brought us to remind ourselves of the teachings.
Let us walk this same road backwards and take teachings to the spheres of social media , observing this is a very – unexpected for some– the context we feed,
as well as the one othe peast keeps reaching further down our oeusophagus.
Pretas -hungry ghosts- is what we are whenever we have a thoughtsess appraoch to langage, tv, social media,
We keep trying to feed ourselves and are permanentlu starving for a final, satisfying content, which never comes.
We end up fully addicted to the junk food for thought and remain entrapped in the circle.

Alternatively, just leave social media. I have thought about it…

Thinking is one thing…

Indeed.

I think we’ve been far enough to understand that ‘social’ is a glittering trap and ‘media’ another word for distorting lie.
