The truly awakened one has no need for questions about awakening,
for he has let go of the need to claim awakening.
To speak of one’s awakening is necessarily to claim this awakening, to make it a given…
That is, the opposite of what awakening is.
Therefore, he who speaks of his awakening is not authentically awakened,
and it may be that he who strives not to speak of it is.
What we cannot learn from his lips,
we must learn from our eyes, when we observe him,
and from his own, when we do not speak of it.
