Could it be this initial feeling of betrayal by our physical body — ours and others’– , which drives us to deepen our medical knowledge ?
Is it the betrayal represented by others’ diseases, which initiates the unbridled quest to mastering physiological processes ?
Could it be, if I broaden the scope of this context, that this same movement of loss, absence of grasp on reality pushes us to accumulate knowledge ?
Don’t we necessarily have to follow a way of letting go, losing the grip, to stop trying to go after reality with our teeth ?
To drop all hope of mind-biting into the flesh of the world ?
Would we therefore be more ignorant or wiser than the beholder of worldly knowledge ?
