“Hide Yourself, Master”

Self-certification,
Artificial mastery

is a powerful means of concealing the psychological realities of the person concerned.

This seeks to sublimate an undigested content.
This person projects into a sphere of untouchability, out of ignorance (or exhaustion from being so deeply touched, maybe).

  1. Not really. I referred to self-proclaimed masters.
Which can just as well include formally proclaimed masters.
The process of creating distance between you and the world through thinking of yourself as a ‘master’.
This is not limited to Zen, or Buddhism.
It is involved in any situation gathering teachers and learners.
The illusion of knowing something others don’t, maybe.
