The Resting Hand

When a banal interaction generates great pleasure in one of the parties, it may be so because this situation offers a resounding echo chamber (a welcoming space) for the solitude of times gone by.

When such an interaction includes a physical dimension, an established contact, it opens the doors even wider to receive therapeutic joy.
A hand placed on the forearm is also the occasion, the context for the blossoming of a great past solitude.

As it is born in our eyes, it dies in our hearts.
This hand placed is the occasion for an encounter,
With the other (no banal relationship) and with oneself (as I was alone until now).
The tear is heard as it touches the bottom of the well.

  1. So, the pleasure of company lies in the pain of loneliness?

I suppose the precise opposite, also, is true.

Which leads to the slightly disturbing conclusion that we are attached, always, to seeking the opposite of what we have, for the pleasure of recalling the pain it holds. A rather perverse scratching of a permanent itch.

    I think.

    1. I would tend to see this more in terms of sound breathing patterns ..
Delicate, undulating waves, circulating back and forth between two poles…

I must admit I read this post again, following the invitation of your commentand have no idea of what could have been meant initially.
