There comes an age when the choice of an activity has ceased to be made as it has always been: as an investment in the future.
Futures have become closed enough to preclude professional or semi-professional fulfillment.
The activity finally exists for itself, as such, as a practice with no other aim than going through this activity.
In this life, I will never become a doctor, a jazz musician, or a Japanese/English interpreter.
Elsewhere, the authentic sitting reflects this same approach
Target-based practice, objective-oriented sitting is not our practice.
